About
About Me
My name is David Howland. I’m currently a student at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. Throughout my entire life, I have always enjoyed the outdoors. My parents dragged me off hiking at a very young age, and before long I was looking forward to the weekends trips. Over a span of about 7 years we completed the AT in it’s entirety through Connecticut and Massachusetts. Through the Boy Scouts I developed a love for just about any outdoor activity. In the summer, I spend my time mountain biking, road biking, racing triathlons, running, rock climbing, and hiking. In the winter, I ski (both at ski areas and in the backcountry), hike, snowshoe, cross-country ski, run, and ice climb.
I’ve always been interested in photography, and when photography classes became available in high school, I took every one the school had to offer. I try to bring my camera with me whenever I go into the outdoors, and I enjoy taking pictures that depict what I see and experience outside. I also greatly enjoy writing. I’d love to be able to find a way to turn these two passions into a career.
