Another great race. Somewhat foggy and humid, but best swim time yet, and fastest I’ve ridden on the bike in a long time.
Overall Time: 1:00:49 - 90th
Swim Split: 6:27 - 208th
Bike Split: 29:34 - 64th - 23mpg average
Run Split: 24:47 - 135th - 8:00 miles

I called this. Completely called it. Cavendish wins Stage 5, Slipstream keeps the team lead in the GC.

Valverde with the win. Dominating uphill sprint to take the stage.
This site has been online a little over two months now, and I’ve already found alot of things that bug me about it. Some of them are design related, and some are performance related. At any rate, I’m working now on Version 2.0 of the site, which should be faster, nicer to look at, and will hopefully have some new content. I’m getting oh-so-close to purchasing that new DSLR.
I had a great race. The water temp was 65, way warmer than it ever has been. This was the first time I’ve raced this event. I’ve raced the course before, but not in early June. I’m pleased with my times, given the amount of training I’ve done this year (very, very little). I’ll edit in the race pictures later.
Overall Time: 1:13:58
Swim Split: 10:00
Bike Split: 32:51
Run Split: 31:06
The swim was slow because my swims are always slow. With a little bit of swim training, my swim time could decrease greatly. I had a great bike leg, and my average speed was around 20 mph, over 10.84 miles. And on the run my calves cramped up, resulting in a slow, slow time. Overall, a very good race. I placed fourth out of six in my age group, and placed 274 out of 747 overall. Official results are here: Cool Running - Hyannis Sprint 1 Triathlon Race Results.

Running to the Line

I’ve got my first triathlon of the season on Saturday: the Hyannis Sprint 1. 1/4 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run. And on my way home from work today, racing somebody, I got cut off and went right over my handlebars, tumbled along the road and burnt off alot of skin on my hip. I’m thinking of wearing a white jersey to the race and trying for a Curt Schilling effect.
Finally out of school. Now it’s back to work at the bike shop, earning money to pay for the DLSR I’ve got my eyes on. I think I’ve finally decided on the Olympus EVOLT E-510. It’s 10.1 MP, which I like, and the kit lenses it come with are pretty decent. Total kit is like $635.

8 days skiing.
12/23, 2/23 at Crotched Mountain
1/2-3, 1/20-21 at Loon Mountain
2/16-17 at Ragged Mountain
2 days at Tuckerman Ravine
4/5-6 with Backcountry Agenda.
Damn thesis paper to finish for tomorrow. I’ve got one page left to type. How I wish I’d finished Season 3 of LOST on time.
